First, I want to thank you for looking into our new E-Newsletter, designed specifically for those engaged in the Academic & Public Library fields. Our purpose is to provide you with information on, and a source for, video programming that will be of interest to both you and your patrons or students.

Next, put your mind at ease. I've been online since mid '95 and subscribe to e-mail lists for library media specialists and others in the field, so I'm well aware of the sensitivity to brazen promotion. These lists are also an excellent way for suppliers like myself to keep an ear to the ground, so to speak. They also provide me with insight for the needs and protocols of the constituents.

Initial Format: Since this is a new effort on our part, I am not going to set any hard and fast rules with regard to content or frequency. I'd appreciate your feedback on both. Regarding frequency, initially the e-newsletter will be sent out once a month and contain a short, concise message with an overview of the items covered and a "hot link" to a page in our site that will provide further details. We also promise never to disclose subscribers names (or other info) to anyone, for any reason, ever. A sample newsletter, with hot link, appears below.
