Trumpeter Blues: A Swan Story - 24 minutes/$24.95
Western Wyoming is the natural setting for this film. Near extinction at the turn of the century, swans are making a slow comeback under protection from hunting. However, they still face a host of threats as they bring their cygnets (young swan) to adult maturity: coyotes, otters, and muskrats. The most serious threat is the coming of winter; the young cygnets must learn to fly before the first freeze-up. In a race against time, the young swans practice daily, comically, until they do learn, just in time to escape. Item #TF008

Song Dog: The Coyote - 26 minutes/$24.95
Winner of 11 awards, this program focuses on the life cycle of the coyote through the changing seasons in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone Park. Dramatic rare sequences of coyotes stealing a black bear's cub from it's mother, taking fish from an otter, pursuing antelope and sheep. Watch as they are chased by an angry mule deer doe, and in a very Rare scene, even by a buffalo calf. The coyote's most important food is field mice and comical scenes are recorder. By contrast, he is a devoted and affective parent. So scenes around the den are an important part of this film. Magnificently filmed production. Booklist Item #TF009

Drama, poignancy and humor in a land where man seldom intrudes.
